【托福词汇】如何提升记忆质量需对单词有深层理解

在托福备考过程中，词汇是为基础的一项内容，而托福词汇量也是非常大的。现在，新东方在线就为大家带来托福词汇如何更加重视记忆质量，希望能为大家的备考带来帮助。 在托福考试中，词汇量的掌握并不是仅仅按照词汇记忆量的多少来做衡量。也有很多同学虽然记忆的词汇已经不少，但是在应用中任然存在障碍。记忆托福单词更需看重质量。和很多考生接触的过程当中，发现学生们对于背单词存在一个误区，想在这里简单总结一下，为什么很多学生每天背150甚至200个单词，还是做不到在听说考试中应用自如。 问题显然不是学生的托福词汇量不够，而是学生对于背过的单词的理解存在一个层次上的差距，即他们并没有将这个单词完全背下来，他们背下来的只是这个单词相对应的出现在单词书上解释而已，而不是这个单词的真正意思。这要如何解释呢，比如一个很简单的词dig，单词书上的意思是“挖”，很容易记，而真正背会这个单词是要求学生要把dig这个词和挖的动作联系在一起，即一听到或看到这个词就想到一个人或动物在挖的这个情景，那么我们在描述一个情景的时候也才能立刻条件反射式的想到这个词拿来用。 因此，我们需要知道，对于一个单词的理解和应用是有不同层次的，只满足于对于单词书上释意的记忆，对于听力和口语来讲是远远不够的，因为你还需要一个翻译的过程才能反应过来，而这个时候单词一闪而过，是不会给你那个时间去反应的。那么如何达到深层次的记忆呢?一个有效的办法是，将自己每天背的单词在次日做个测试，将没记熟的词记在生词本上，每个词重新背一遍，同时将其联系到一个情景中。比如abundant这个词，单词书上是丰富的意思，那么在记忆的时候我们就可以将其联系到一个情景，某样东西堆积起来很多的样子，这样一见到这个词，就想到这个情景，可以让我们在听力过程中下意识的反应过来。在口语中想表达丰富这个意思的时候，就会根据情景自然想到abundant，而不是去想这个意思对应单词书上有哪些词。再比如，下面表示身体各部位的词，我们要直接将其与部位联系起来，看着你自己，告诉自己哪个地方叫什么，而不是看着单词书，告诉自己这个词是什么意思。 总体来讲，听说考试对于学生单词的要求，相对更注重质量，需要学生对一个单词有更深层次的理解。方法说起来简单，做起来却是个很繁琐的事情，尤其是对于某些单词基础较弱的同学来讲，会有一个漫长的过程去进行积累，但习惯了这种记忆方式，则可以事半功倍，记住了就不会忘。 考试中运用怎样的速记方法因人而异，你甚至可以自创一套独特的、只有自己可以辨认的速记符号，但关键的问题是你的速记要有助于你迅速而准确地回想起一次性听到的、读到的东西。所以，“快”而“准”就成了迅速记笔记所应遵循的准则。 作记录并不等于毫无遗漏地将听到看到的每一个词都记录下来，那既是不必要的，也是不现实的、不可能的，特别是在新托福的口语考试中。作记录应着重那些能反映关键信息的关键词，能反映中心意义的核心句。先将它们符号化，然后再将这些符号还原成先前听到或读到的内容。请看下面的例子： 例如： In 1337, a terrible war began between England and France, and this war continued for almost a hundred years. 记录：1337，E war F → 100yrs 速记实际上是我们突破记忆障碍的一种手段，是对记忆的一种补充，是对自己的一种提醒，因此，在作记录时应注意： 1、所运用的符号应尽量简单，要便于书写; 2、自己创建的缩略语、符号等自己要能识别; 3、要按听、读材料的内容顺序记录关键词和关键信息; 4、作成的笔记可以串成与材料内容相符的句子; 5、平时要多练习，增加眼耳手嘴并用，听说读写结合，并严格按考试要求的时间操练。 如果有任何英语方面的问题请咨询,新东方在线：<a href="http://wanbang.soxsok.com/" target="_blank">http://wanbang.soxsok.com/</a>
